The skinny on great places to find truly country antiques!
If you love that down home carefree feeling of antique treasures at a reasonable price, take the drive East of Springfield, along the 60 just past the 125 to Wildwood Antiques Mall . I have antiqued all over the area... and Wildwood is not only affordable, it is clean with unusual items ready to go home with you.
As you enter make sure you introduce yourself to their pet mascot Bear the cat.
Then spend a couple of hours perusing a splendid array of countrified antiques. From chandeliers to an old cane wheelchair, to unusual teapots, there is a vast array of choices for the discerning picker.
Hungry? Continue East along the 60 to the 1880's town of Fordland. A few of the original buildings still stand sentinel to another time. For pickers it's a paradise, but the shops are open only on specific days so call ahead.
Stop at La Galette Berrichonne for the BEST French food in Southern Missouri!
