...Bring the Past Home...
,Finding affordable antiques is a quest for me, especially when I am working on props for a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater... and that's how I discovered Wildwood Antique Mall. I was greeted by the official Mall Greeter: Bear the Cat, who purred as I stroked his fur... then I started my search for brandy snifters and found exactly what I wanted at a price I could afford.
Wildwood Antique Mall is celebrating their 26th year and is the oldest antique mall in SW Missouri as well as the oldest business in Rogersville under the same ownership. The mall has over 70 booths and many of their vendors have been with them for over 20 years.
The owners, Linda and Chris Van O'Linda enjoy greeting old friends and making new ones at this unique mall. Repeat customers that have shopped here over the past 26 years still come back, some from as far away as California when they are in the area. They love to stop and say hi to Bear whose every ready with a friendly purr...
I asked Linda the other day how it all began, and she said, "It was an inexpensive day with kids when they were little, to go out and see different shops and reflect on their history... I'd pick up a few treasures and then my husband said I needed to do something with all my finds"... all those years ago and this energetic couple are still doing the same things, finding gifts from the past and sharing them with the future!!!
I love perusing the store and stumbling upon a unique teapot, or a wicker wheel chair. They feature such a wide variety of antiques, collectables, vintage and boutique items, that it is sure to please all shoppers from primitives to dainty embroidered handkerchiefs and tools to glassware and cute hard to find chic clothing. The many vendors do a terrific job finding interesting merchandise to stock their booths with and keep them full.
Come for their Christmas Party Dec. 1st, 10 to 5... with yummy treats and a great place to find the unique Christmas Gift for that special friend, I'll be there early!
It's a great new destination stop... Wildwood Antique Mall... on your next trip out Hwy 60 toward Rogersville. Don't forget to tell Bear hello. You will be thrilled with the great selection of merchandise and the clean friendly atmosphere.
